Our core belief, Feel the Learn, is all about improving ourselves and others to create and sustain a culture of constant growth. One of the other cornerstones of continuous improvement in our business is a focus on Lean Enterprise. We want our employees to have the freedom and the capability to constantly improve their specific job function and work within our team to improve the company overall. We utilize “WHY” questions, daily metrics, communication, and root cause analysis to identify areas of opportunity. We provide training in Lean basics, root cause analysis and problem solving, and then allow our teams to go and improve without asking permission. We encourage small, incremental improvements that take a few minutes to implement and save seconds and minutes throughout the day. By making many small improvements, we are able to generate participation from multiple employees and make a large impact on our key results of Safety, Profitable Revenue, Customer Centric, and On-Time Shipping.
Lean Enterprise is not about eliminating jobs or implementing tools, but is a culture of eliminating waste found in every aspect of every business and creating a “we can do better” attitude. Our sales groups and plants all work together to grow our businesses annually. Our Lean culture enables that growth via increased throughput of products and processes, improved utilization of space, better quality, and faster delivery to our customers.
