We utilize “WHY” questions, daily metrics, communication, and root cause analysis to identify areas of opportunity. We provide training in Lean basics, root cause analysis and problem solving, and then allow our teams to go and improve without asking permission. We encourage small, incremental improvements that take a few minutes to implement and save seconds and minutes throughout the day. By making many small improvements, we are able to generate participation from multiple employees and make a large impact on our key results of Safety, Profitable Revenue, Customer Centric, and On-Time Shipping.
